PHOTO BRUSSELS FESTIVAL

In this first edition of the [PEP] Photographic Explorations exhibition, we went back to the roots of the PEP project - aiming at being inclusive & sensitive to experimentation, celebrating photography as a means to explore unknown territories. Through an international call for entries, we invited artists to show how their personal approach to the medium reflects an idiosyncratic vision on topics that matter most to them. In a very personal way, the selected proposals address a vast spectrum of subjects. Some work veers towards the nuances of identity and the ideologies inherited and perpetuated by our societies, while other images seek to question the stories that shape our lives by focusing on modern cultures and technologies or by delving into the sacred and immemorial aspects of our environments. Our selection of images favours a poetic approach to these tangled and riddled matters, all in light of grappling with the central question of our relationship with the photographic medium itself.


The [PEP] Photographic Explorations group show will be on view at 254Forest in Brussels from January 25 to March 17, 2024 and will feature the works of:
